Internship or Bachelor’s Thesis: Implementation of a Control System for a Soft-Switching Full Bridge
Type: Full-time position
Location: Singen, Germany
The control of welding inverters is a critical aspect of welding technology that influences the quality and efficiency of the welding process. You will implement pulse width modulation for a soft-switching full bridge with a synchronous rectifier on a microcontroller, enabling new control methods. This allows for better performance and a longer service life for the semiconductors, and you will contribute to long-term product development.
Your Responsibilities
- You will develop software for controlling pulse width modulation
- You will define the specific requirements for the microcontroller, taking into account
the specific requirements and challenges in welding technology - You will design suitable test procedures to verify that the microcontroller meets the requirements
- You will investigate and implement control methods (such as control with a
variable switching frequency or a switch between hard- and soft-switching
operation) to minimize losses and extend the lifespan of semiconductors - You will compile your research findings, implementation concept, and
recommendations for future developments in a report
Your Profile
- Studies in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field
- Knowledge of microcontroller programming and pulse width modulation
- Knowledge of control engineering is an advantage
- Independent, proactive, and diligent way of working
- Curiosity about product development in welding technology in a global customer market
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Very good German and English skills
Your Benefits
You will have the opportunity to gain initial practical experience and, as a full-fledged team member
benefit from the know-how of our employees.
You will take on initial responsibility and contribute your ideas while being supported by
your supervisor throughout your practical assignment.
With us, you benefit equally from the advantages of an international
large corporation and the charm of mid-sized structures.
Seeing your internship as an opportunity to start your professional life is a matter of course for us
