OWX Software Update
A software update of the power source is necessary to enable the full functionality of the OWX welding head and ensure smooth operation.

The software update brings the power source to the current version 3.2.3 or higher. This update is necessary to unlock the full functionality of the OWX welding head and to ensure optimal cooperation between the welding head and the power source. Only with the correct software version will the power source recognize all OWX functions and fully support them – for smooth operation, better control, and maximum process reliability.
In this video, we show you step-by-step how to perform the update: from preparing the USB stick and downloading the software files to installing the update directly on the power source. We also provide tips on what to pay attention to during the process. The software update is easy to implement and takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the initial version. Once completed, the OWX will be available to you with all its smart functions – ready for welding operations.
Perform Software Update

Download the Smartwelder.ZIP and OM_V3.2.3.OTU files and save them to a USB stick.

Ensure the USB stick is formatted in FAT32 and has a storage capacity of at least 16 GB.

Connect the USB stick to an available USB port on the power source.

The power source automatically detects which updates are required based on the currently installed software version.

Navigate to the software update in the main menu of the power source: “Settings”, “System Data”, “Update”, “Update System” and confirm the execution of the update.

The update takes approximately 20-40 minutes, depending on the current software version.

During the update, the power source must not be switched off, and the USB stick must not be removed.

A progress bar on the display shows the status of the update.

After the update is complete, the power source will restart automatically.
Check Software Version

Check the displayed software version in the header bar of the display.

If Version 3.2.3 or higher is displayed, the software update has been successfully completed.

If a lower version is displayed, the update must be performed again.

Repeat the update until Version 3.2.3 or higher is displayed in the header bar.
