Successful conclusion of the project
Power electronics in practice
As part of the pioneering collaboration between Orbitalum Tools GmbH and the HTWG Konstanz University of Applied Sciences - Technology, Business and Design, the focus is on an intensive exchange between theory and practice. As part of the "Power Electronics in Practice" project, master's students on the power electronics course at HTWG Konstanz had the unique opportunity to gain in-depth insights into the world of electronics development at Orbitalum Tools.
The final event of the project took place on Friday, January 26, at the HTWG Konstanz and was the highlight of the knowledge exchange. The Master's students presented their project results, which were based on the creation of their own welding inverter. The challenge was to develop their own electronics and an individual design based on the hardware of an Orbitalum welding inverter. Thanks to the technical support of the Orbitalum Tools development department, the students received valuable feedback and were able to compare their theoretical concepts with the requirements from industry. "A close exchange between theory and practice is crucial in order to develop a deep understanding of the challenges and requirements of the industry," emphasizes Oliver Oestrich, Head of the Development Department at Orbitalum Tools.
The "Power electronics in practice" project focuses on the exchange between budding electronics engineers and industry. "We are delighted that our students had the chance to apply their knowledge in a real industrial environment," explains Prof. Rebholz. The project is one of a number of initiatives that have been initiated since 2022 as part of the transfer efforts between the HTWG and the region under the heading "Real-world laboratory Singen".
"The final event shows that the close exchange between theory and practice is crucial for developing innovative solutions in power electronics," says Andreas Lier, Business Unit Manager at Orbitalum Tools. "This partnership not only provides an insight into the world of electronics, but also encourages the development of future talent that will drive the industry forward." Orbitalum Tools GmbH offers a wide range of entry-level opportunities for qualified young talent.
