
Internship or Thesis: Thermal Optimization of a Welding Inverter

Welding inverters are crucial for the quality and efficiency of welding processes in many industrial applications. Their thermal properties significantly influence the performance, reliability, and lifespan of the devices. Your work focuses on thermal optimization – thereby contributing significantly to the further development of a welding inverter.
Your Responsibilities
- You will identify the main sources of energy losses within the welding inverter and
its components and quantify their impact on overall performance. - You will develop and conduct a series of thermal tests to understand and
characterize the thermal properties of the inverter. - You will identify critical components and create aging models.
- You will develop strategies and solutions to minimize heat losses and
improve the thermal management of the welding inverter. - You will implement the proposed approaches and evaluate their impact on
thermal performance. - You will compile your research findings, implementation concept, and
recommendations for future developments in a report
Your Profile
- Degree in electrical engineering or a comparable field
- Experience with thermal testing and loss analysis
- Independent, proactive, and diligent way of working
- Curiosity about product development in welding technology in a global customer market
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Very good German and English skills
