Apply welding parameters

In orbital welding, the welding process is divided into several sectors to ensure high weld quality and consistency. This method provides uniform heat distribution while preventing overheating and distortion. By monitoring and processing each sector individually, precise control of the welding parameters is possible. The result is consistently high weld quality.

In many cases, it makes sense to set key parameters—such as current, pulse time, or welding speed—globally for all sectors to achieve a uniform weld. This can be set easily in the welding program via the “Apply welding parameters” button. This prevents the operator from having to open each individual sector when making global changes to the welding parameters.

How it works

  1. Go to the welding program and select the first sector in the welding spiral.

  2. In the sector, you can now configure the settings for welding in this area. These include the following welding parameters: current, pulse time, and welding speed.

  3. If you would like to apply the settings from the first sector to the subsequent sectors, click the “Apply welding parameters” button (at the bottom of the menu bar).

  4. Please confirm the transfer of the welding parameters by clicking “Yes”.

  5. Check all sectors to ensure that the changes from the first sector have been correctly transferred to the subsequent sectors.
