Orbital welding requires consideration of many parameters to achieve perfect welding results. These include material quality, pipe diameter and wall thickness, as well as pipe edge preparation. In addition, welding current, welding speed, and pulse times must be defined. Division of the pipe into different sectors is also necessary to influence gravity and heat input factors. The selection of optimal welding parameters is therefore complex and varies depending on the application. To reduce the complexity of orbital welding, we offer intuitive auto-programming in our orbital welding power sources. Auto-programming automatically determines the required welding parameters based on the pipe’s boundary parameters. Created welding programs can be saved, transferred to other power sources, and retrieved for future tasks.
Auto-programming is not the only feature that significantly simplifies the welding process. Operation of our orbital welding power sources is also simple and intuitive. Our power sources are equipped with a touchpanel-based user interface, multiple soft keys, and a rotary control. The multiple input options enable straightforward entry of welding parameters and facilitate operation of the power source.
