Orbital Technology for Production and Field Applications

Orbital Applications: The Orbitalum product portfolio is fundamentally divided into three main categories: cutting, beveling/facing, and orbital welding. Orbitalum is among the few manufacturers offering first-class solutions across the entire spectrum of high-purity applications—machines that operate reliably both in production manufacturing environments and under demanding field conditions.

While some manufacturers develop their high-purity systems exclusively for use in controlled production environments, Orbitalum designs its machines robust enough for outdoor use: sturdy steel housings, integrated and secure carrying handles, protection against dust and moisture, controls that can be reliably operated even with gloves, and the ability to operate with different power sources—such as generators.

In addition to their robustness, our machines also impress with intelligent technology. The GF-AVM series saws are optionally available with automation, enabling exceptional precision. The Smart Welder Plus was designed for the future: it delivers orbital welds of the highest quality while meeting increasing demands for productivity and efficiency.

Our systems thus cover the majority of applications encountered in both manufacturing and field operations.

Orbital Pipe Cutting
Precision Pipe Cutting

Pipe cutting is the first step in any high-purity installation. Since 1960, the GF and RA series pipe saws from Orbitalum have set standards in precision, durability, and ease of use. The ability of a high-purity saw to cut stainless steel absolutely square is critical for orbital welding, where gaps or misalignments cannot be tolerated.
Orbitalum saws operate using an orbital cutting principle: the saw blade rotates or “orbits” around the stationary workpiece. Thanks to a deformation-free stainless steel contact system, the pipe surface is neither marked nor deformed—a crucial advantage for demanding applications, such as in aerospace and the semiconductor industry.
Powerful, voltage-stabilized motors ensure consistent cuts, even under high loads and extended operating times.
The Gold Standard for Pipe Saws

The Orbitalum GF 4 is recognized worldwide as the gold standard among high-purity pipe saws and is available for both purchase and rental. In combination with our durable original Orbitalum saw blades, the saws enable square, burr-free cuts—while achieving one of the lowest cutting costs per cut in the industry. Powerful, voltage-stabilized motors ensure consistent cuts, even under high loads and extended operating times.

Orbital Pipe Facing
Perfect Pipe Ends for Orbital Welding

In orbital fusion welding, where the base material itself forms the weld and no filler material is used, it is critical that the pipe ends meet perfectly flush and square. Although Orbitalum saws already produce very precise square cuts, many high-purity specialists additionally use
